ABOUT

Meet the Artist

August Riche is a Haitian American miniaturist, production artist, and visual storyteller from Queens, NY. A graphic design graduate from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, August has explored various artistic mediums throughout her life, with each one informing her current work in miniatures and set design. She merges her diverse artistic influences to craft miniatures that blend memory, architecture, and Black pop culture, creating pieces that feel both nostalgic and iconic. In 2022, her replica of the Trap Music Museum was featured in Hip Hop Architecture at the Museum of Design Atlanta. In 2023, she competed on Best in Miniature (Season 3) and had work featured in the Dolphland Museum, a pop-up art experience honoring Young Dolph.

In 2024, August transitioned into production, where she worked as an art assistant on campaigns for Prime Energy Drink, David Yurman, Evenflow, Clinique, and Loop Earplugs, helping fabricate costumes for one of the ads. In 2025, she led a campaign for J.Crew, recreating their 75 Spring Street location in a four-part miniature series, set to launch on their social platforms in May. Her work has gone viral online, earning recognition from Lady Gaga, Megan Thee Stallion, and Kim Kardashian. The precision and storytelling in her small-scale work now shape her full-scale set design approach, blending her passion for detail and cultural storytelling.
